38' DownEast Sailboat (Ketch)

Description

This is a beautiful 1975 DownEast 38' Ketch, 41' overall total length with Bow Pulpit (43' with the davits and inflatable). These boats were made in California and were extremely well built - many have circumnavigated the globe. This boat has everything you could want in a live aboard. Air conditioning in the main salon and V-birth, new main sail and good condition mizzen, staysail and jib. There is a 4 kw diesel generator that is currently going over a tune up and has a brand new Lofrans Tigress Windlass which has never been used. The windlass has a dedicated battery and there are three house batteries and two starting batteries. The fresh water pump was replaced last year and the raw water pump was rebuilt. The cushions and covers in the main salon were replaced this year and new drapes were installed this past winter. There is a 24" HD TV in the main salon that rotates 180 degrees so you can watch it from the V Berth along with a new Sony Blue-ray Player. The Galley features a microwave, 3 burner propane stove with oven, three refrigerators in the counter tops with a freezer and stainless steel sink. There is a power water system and a foot pump in the galley and head if you don't want to turn on the water. The head has a new toilet with new plumbing, and there is a water heater for head and galley. There are two 20 gallon stainless steel water tanks. The solar panel and control is brand new as is the wind generator with controller. The 10' foot inflatable is brand new and the 15 hp 2 cycle Johnson outboard has less than 100 hours and is conveniently located on the stainless steel davits. The navigation is a Ray Marine with radar, plot finder, depth finder and includes maps for the gulf coast, Florida and the Bahamas. Everything you see is included in the price except for the inflatable and outboard - these will be included in the buy it now price or if you contact me and we agree on a buy it now price. As you can see this boat is in excellent condition, has lots of spare parts for the engine (filters, pumps. etc) and has new teak trim that has yet to be installed. This boat sleeps 7, two in the V berth, one on the starboard couch, two on the lower port couch, one on the upper port couch and one in the aft quarter berth.
