Description

“Shibumi” - Sail boat 36.9’ Custom Bruce Roberts Sloop from 1981

Firstly I love this boat. But! You are bidding on an absolute ocean going, live aboard, cruising, vessel. She is a fantastic boat/home. Easily sailed solo, and very exciting to do so (running the jib from the cockpit is awesome). But also fantastic to take your friends out on. I’m giving her up as my life is taking a new direction and my days of sailing around are on pause for a little while. She’s just be outfitted for a summer of sailing but after getting hit by a few good storms my wife has decided sailing in Hurricane season is not for her. She is an absolute beast on the open ocean. She and I have handled 12’+ swells and 50mph winds with no real problems, aside from the rocking. Originally built in 1981 in South Africa by a couple fleeing from the governmental change. She’s been all through the Caribbean and is currently docked on the St. Johns river just about 12 miles from the ocean. She’s spent most of the last 3 years on the river in fresh water. She is well built and outfitted for a life at sea. She easily has everything you’d need to circumnavigate the globe, cross an ocean, or just cruise around.

She’s got manuals for all systems on board including the original engine manual and engine parts manual.

If you’d like to take a look at her let me know and I can set up a viewing. If you’re really serious, I’d also be happy to show you where things are located on the boat as she’s a custom so there’s a bit of a learning curve before you get really comfortable with her.
