Fat Cat Boats have fiberglass fabrication for the hull and cap that is all hand-laid with no wood found in any parts of the boat. Fat Cat boats are focused on light-weight without giving up strength or durability. The combination of bulkheads and stringers create a unique chambered flotation system that is missing in some boats focused on speed due to weight of normal floatation foam materials. This chambered flotation system operates similar to bullheaded chambers in ocean going ships and inflatable's. Fat Cat's CB-25 Flats Deck is designed and engineered for high-performance, featuring a key-slot transom with a stepped, "Mod VP" hull, commonly called a "pickle fork". This unique combination provides the racing performance of the Mod VP hull together with the shallow water performance of a key-slot transom. The benefit of the key-slot transom is that it reduces the dead rise substantially improving shallow water performance unseen in other Mod Pod V varieties on the market. In addition, it clears the water at speed allowing the Mod VP to perform unchanged. This unique hull design is shallow water performing and quick, as it packs air and lifts with speed, also giving the Avid Angler the smoothest ride available in the shallow, choppy waters found in waters throughout the Gulf Coast.
