This 2016 Bayliner 175BR was purchased new on 10/06/2015. The boat was immediately converted to electric and a never used, zero hour, Mercruiser 135M 3.0L motor is included as well as the trailer. I will do my best to answer most of your questions in advance. Here goes:
.) Question:"How big is the battery?" Answer: 32 kWh
.) Question: "What is the range" Answer: 25 Miles
.) Question: "How fast will it go?" Answer: By theory, 53 MPH. I don't intend to abuse my boat by testing it, but I can say I have had it over 30 MPH and there was considerably more power available.
.) Question: "What kind of batteries are you using?" Answer: 3.2 kWh Lithium Ion modules manufactured by Tesla for the Smart car.
.) Question: "What kind of maintenance is involved with an electric boat?" Answer: Nothing as far as the motor and batteries. The Alpha One outdrive should be maintained in accordance with the manufacturer's recommended maintenance schedule.
