13' Boston Whaler, 130 Sport 2002 40hp
2002 Boston Whaler
Description
This Boston Whaler 130 Sport was originally owned by the University of Tennessee Women's Rowing Team. When I bought it in 2012 it had less than 50 hours on the motor according to their logs. I put no more than 20 hours on it and the boat has been only rarely used since selling our lake house in 2015. This is a fast, fun, reliable, safe boat in great condition.
It is powered by a 40 HP, four stroke, fuel injected Mercury with a Stingray hydrofoil to get on a plane quickly without sacrificing top speed. It has a Bimini top from Great Lakes Top Company, and a fitted Westland full cover (not shown). Included are two three-gallon fuel tanks, a fire extinguisher, and boat hook. It has an Exide Obital Deep Cycle battery and battery box. Also included but not shown is a spare tire for the trailer and a Danforth anchor, chain, and rope. The trailer is equipped with C.E. Smith lighted post guide-ons.
The hull has two minor repaired dings in the gell coat as shown in the photo. The boat is in very good condition, but could use a good powerwash and wax. The seats are a bit grungy from storage but should clean up with a little effort. They are standard seats from West Marine. The tach occasionally jumps around a bit, so there is probably a loose connection somewhere. This boat has never been in salt water and was always stored on a lift or on the trailer.
This boat is an acknowledged classic featuring the Boston Whaler "unsinkable" unibond construction and a twin sponson hull for stability and superior performance. It is remarkably stable in rough water for a boat of this size.
The boat is located near Knoxville, Tennessee.
