Boston Whaler Outrage 17 in remarkable condition for a twenty year-old boat - This 'unsinkable' Whaler is great for family outings, and both inshore fishing and light offshore fishing. I have taken it out into the Gulf of Mexico a few times and the boat handled remarkably well. The boat was re-powered several years ago with a new Evinrude E-Tec 115hp motor - Motor runs perfectly... never a problem... starts up quickly, runs smoothly and quietly - The fiberglass hull is as solid as the day it was built. No soft spots in the fiberglass deck... solid as a rock. There are a couple of minor chips on the fiberglass gunwales, but hardly noticeable and easily repaired. The original live well under the rear seat with through-hull pump still works perfectly. Bilge pump in the large under-floor fish/ice locker works perfectly. All running and navigation lights were replaced with new lights two years ago.
I removed the console and replaced the original 55-gallon gas tank two years ago with a brand new OEM aluminum 55 gallon tank made by the original Boston Whaler tank manufacturer in North Carolina... I had the new tank professionally coated with truck bed liner to prevent corrosion and installed the tank under the console with all new fuel lines, hoses, and stainless clamps... the new gas tank should last forever.
I also have the original navy blue Boston Whaler Bimini top with stainless steel frame still in excellent condition... the Bimini top has always been stored inside and looks like new. I honestly do not think the Bimini top has ever been used on the boat, but I could be mistaken. It looks new.
I added a quality aluminum FishMaster folding T-Top with matching navy blue canvas top two years ago for family recreation and inshore fishing, although I hate to admit that I have been too busy to take the boat fishing... we've just taken short family trips from our dock into the Intracoastal Waterway and ventured just offshore in the Gulf of Mexico a few times - 5 rocket launcher rod holders on the T-Top - T-Top Bag for storing life jackets - Upper console storage with secondary electrical panel, several light switches, red/white cockpit light, new front and rear facing LED lights, VHF radio mount, remote toggle for high beam 360 degree spotlight mounted above T-Top, new VHF antenna, and new anchor light... all of these items were bought new two years ago.
I also replaced the original bench seat with a matching top quality aluminum leaning post with rocket launcher rod holders, a removable cushioned back rest, and a fold-down foot rest. This leaning post makes driving the boat an amazing and comfortable experience.
I have installed many new upgrades, including a new Boston Whaler black rubber steering wheel with stainless spokes for better grip in rough water, all new toggle switches and breakers, two new batteries with a 3-position battery switch, new West Marine AM/FM radio with Bluetooth, four new waterproof speakers, new electric boat horn, new high-end Engel $300 cooler with matching boat cushions for seating in front of the console.
Also includes a $1200 LIKE NEW top-of-the-line Garmin GPSMAP 7607xsv Chartplotter Fishfinder. A top choice for Anglers, Cruisers and Sailors. 7" Color Multi-View Touchscreen Display, Fully Networkable and preloaded Bluechart G2 and LakeVu HD mapping provides coverage for all U.S. Waters. Built in HD-ID Sonar with CHIRP DownVu and CHIRP SideVu. A matching Garmin CHIRP DownVu and SideVu Transducer is included... mounted on stern of the boat. The $400 Garmin GT50M-TM 12-Pin 300W CHIRP (Mid-Band CHIRP 80-160kHz) and 500W (CHIRP 455/800kHz) ClearVu/SideVu Plastic Transom Transducer with built-in Temperature Sensor is compatible with Garmin GPSMAP 7600xsv Series. I paid over $1700 for the entire Garmin electronics outfit, including cables, brackets, etc. The Garmin 7607xsv has always been stored in a protective cushioned hard case inside my home after every trip... The boat has been stored in my covered boat house and boat lift since I purchased it. A Performance brand galvanized trailer comes with the boat.
