Condition

This hull is solid and the motor is mechanically sound w/factory warranty. There is cosmetic wear including discoloration/scratches/chips/cracks in gel coat - all minor. The fiberglass is in great condition. The overall condition of the boat, the railing, and the upholstery is extremely exceptional.The engine has been rinsed with Salt Away after each use and the boat is always stored out of the water and away from salt air.

Outrage II

Boston Whaler is known for their ‘unsinkable boat’. This is not exclusive to Boston Whaler anymore…but this is a company that has a long history of exceeding Coast Guard Requirements. The boat I am selling is a 1995 Boston Whaler Outrage II. This model was sold from 1992-1995, when the company was owned by Reebok Corporation. Its unique hull design has 3 fiberglass layers (prior versions had 2 -top/bottom with foam core). The 3rd layer on top keeps water out of the hull and holds the dual batteries above the gunnel height which keeps the batteries high and dry in the boat becomes ‘swamped’. This becomes critical in keeping the engine running so that you can put the boat under power and drain water out rear (self-bailing). The additional weight of the third layer of fiberglass creates a softer ride on choppy days.

Personal History

I purchased this boat in 2015 and upgraded the power at the same time. I had previously owned a Montauk 17 and was impressed with the fit and finish of this boat. I have primarily used it for salmon fishing and abalone diving out of Bodega Harbor with some occasional trips to Fort Bragg and Albion.From Bodega I run north to Sea Ranch, south to 10 Mile, and directly out to 300’ line. In any of these directions it is 15 to 25 miles – up to 50 miles round trip. The 80 gallon tank provides ample amount of fuel and is extremely efficient (approximately 20 gallons on the longest of trips - which includes all day trolling). On ‘blown out days’, I launch at Nick’s Cove in Tamales. The boat is set up nicely for Halibut fishing.

I have enjoyed the boat for 4 seasons, but find that I am using it less and less. It is time for someone else to enjoy. It is ‘Ready to Fish – Turn-Key Condition’.
