1995 Chaparral 27 Signature Aft Cabin with 2005 MPI engine- Needs engine work

This listing is for a 1995 Chaparral 27 Signature Aft cabin that was repowered in 2005 with a Fresh water cooled Marine Power 5.7 liter Multi Port Injected Vortec. The trailer shown in the photos is not included with the boat. It may be available if needed.
We are selling this boat on brokerage and do not know much about it other than what we noticed on a brief inspection. The photos are current and taken on 3-5-18. We were told by owner that it was winterized but has an engine problem. We hooked up our shop battery and found that most things in the boat power up well. The drive trims up and down and the engine spins over but will not start. We Cranked it for about a minute overall and got a few pops out of it but that's it. At a time it sounded like it wanted to start. It could be as minor as a fuel problem or more serious. We noticed that the valve covers are a bit rusty and some salt water spray corrosion on top of engine. Not a sinker or anything but looks like hatches leak on top of engine. It is fresh water cooled and oil and coolant look great. This was however an expensive engine at time of repower. The drive is a Bravo one and looks good. Shifts and trims up and down well. We noticed the water heater in bilge is completely rusted out. It will need batteries as well. Cabin lights, windlass, electronics all power up. Bilge pump works on auto and manual as well. We didn't check every little pump and bulb so assume a few things don't work. The GPS plotter, Fish-finder and VHF work well.
Cosmetically it is in nice original shape. Gel coat in great shape and all original. Decks are all rock solid. Cushions all feel soft and it has a good working mooring cover that was obviously used. Bimini in okay shape and there is some side curtain panels in cabin that don't look great but may be useable or good for patterns. Cabin looks good and has some signs of moisture here and there. There is a bit of mold in a few areas. Nice layout with a ton of room in aft cabin.
Overall this boat will represent a great value for a handy buyer. We have no idea the extent of work needed for the engine to run. Please use the 130 photos below this ad to evaluate. We have title for boat in hand and ready to transfer.
