THIS IS AN ESTATE SALE AND NOT MY PERSONAL CAR. I AM REPRESENTING IT FOR OUR CLIENTS AND HAVE ONLY LIMITED KNOWLEDGE OF IT.

I have been asked to represent an original Chris Craft Sportsman…..the iconic boat of my youth….born and raised on the Finger Lakes of upstate New York. I remember these boats when they were brand new, gliding across the lake with the wonderful sound and just a beautiful picture. This has always been a fresh water boat.

This is a barn find of my beautiful memory. This boat is all original in very good UNRESTORED condition, as you can see. This boat is structurally sound. The original Hercules KL 6 cylinder motor turns over with no problem…..it is not locked up. You can clearly see that all the mechanical components are there and seem to function, But need restoration. The gauge cluster is complete and near perfect with crystal clarity.

As you can see by the photos there is very, very little rot on this boat. One or two small areas under the rub rail, a little in the corners of the transom, The debris field that I have pictured is the mahogany planking that is mounted in the interior of the boat…..all wrapped with tape and I believe numbered.

As far as I can tell the bits and pieces of stainless steel and seats are all there…..with the exception of a few floor boards.

The trailer that the boat is sitting on looks to me to be needing adjustment for this boat. It has new wheels and tires and is a good solid tilt trailer. I believe that this boat is an excellent candidate for total restoration. And I believe with little effort for restoration, this could be a magnificent boat. These boats are getting harder and harder to locate.

In my opinion this is a solid enough boat to restore.
