1938 Chris Craft 28' Cruiser with Calkins Trailer Project
1938 Chris Craft Express Cruiser
Description
1938 Chris Craft Cruiser Project.
Please note the last 4 pictures are examples of the boat before restoration started.
I purchased the Boat and Trailer in Marrowstone Washington 10 years ago and brought it back to my barn in Oakley, Utah, with the goal of restoring it. I hired a Boat Restorer to help bring the vessel back to life. A year later I was in a life changing accident and since then it has just sat in my barn. I am not looking to get back all the money I have into it, just looking for some money and someone who can take her to completion.
There was a impression in the bottom of the boat prior to my ownership, the wind had blown the boat off its jacks prior to my purchase. That impression has been repaired. All the rot was cut out and mostly replaced, all the screws have been tightened. The West Epoxy System was used on the exterior and some of the interior on the boat. The transom had it rot removed and replaced with White Oak. The engine turned over when I purchased it, was removed and stored.
All the chrome fixtures, lights, markings and everything that was attached to the boat when I purchased it come with the sale.
The Calkins Trailer is in good shape, has surge brakes, tires were new at the time of purchase but may need to be replaced due to sitting in the barn.
Please feel free to email me you questions, it may be best to talk on the phone or see the project in person.
