This is a 1984 Chris Craft Scorpion 390 power boat that went through complete renovation in 2009-2012. It is located in Des Plaines, IL. 10 min. from the O’Hare
Airport.
The renovation included complete interior and exterior restoration. The haul has been inspected and painted. All windows have been replaced with new ones and new aluminum side rails have been installed. The interior has been completely renovated with vinyl as you can see from the pictures. The kitchen has new appliances as well as entertaining center including DVD and two TVs. The whole electrical system has been renovated and upgraded with all new wiring, switches, breakers, lighting fixtures and controls. The deck has been remodeled and new dash board installed with new gages and controls. Same goes on and on for every detail of the boat including the two Chevy 454” engines, transmissions, outdrives, A/C unit and generator. The three-axis trailer went through the same detailed restoration, having new electrical and hydraulic systems, new brakes, bearings and tires. The engines have about 200 hours and the boat have never been on salt water since I purchased it in 2007. It was used in Lake Michigan only. The boat was on water last time in the summer of 2014 when the water pump of one of the engines failed and the related engine overheated. Currently both engines start and run, but the overheated one is knocking – probably bad crankshaft bearings.
