Chris Craft Riviera

1954 Chris Craft Riviera. This was owned by a friend of mine locally and I was told it came from the original family who bought it new in Maine. The boat had been in storage over thirty years until I came to own it. The original motor a KLB was not with the boat. I installed a mid 1960's Chris Craft 283 that came to me in a Chris Craft Ski Boat. The motor runs excellent and really makes the boat move better than did the original KLB. I installed an oil pressure feed switch to an electric fuel pump which makes the motor a bit more reliable and should oil pressure drop below necessary requirements the motor will shut down. I also installed an alternator and omitted the low charging generator and voltage regulator system. The boat will need a refinish for it to be show quality. There is no rot to be found. We did do a minor sealing of the bottom as I have the boat on a lift. The interior must have been redone and barely used before it was put away as it is in excellent condition. The boat is ready to use if you want to trailer it. I use it every few days and it has been super reliable. I am not a desperate seller and will ignore low ball offers. However I am open to reasonable offers and not interested in the long story about how the boat needs the original motor etc. In fact many of these for sale on various sites have the V-8 installed. I see some examples as much as $40000 but not sure what they are selling for. I think this is a fair starting price for someone who can do the refinish themselves will have a show quality boat for much less than 35-40K. I can water test with prospective serious buyers. The bottom seems solid and no signs of obvious rot.
