SUPER RARE 1934 Mullins Deluxe SEA EAGLE Double Cockpit STEEL Inboard Runabout
1934 Mullins Deluxe Sea Eagle
Description
Here for your bidding pleasure is an EXTREMELY RARE 1934 Mullins brand Deluxe SEA EAGLE model steel double cockpit runabout!! This boat will need a total restoration- it is intact and complete minus any running lights that may or may not have been on it originally. The trailer may be original, I'm not sure- it's definitely super sturdy and rugged- I towed the rig over 800 miles using this trailer after the bearings were re-packed. This boat has not been used in a long time. I have not tried to use it in the many years (ten or more) that I have owned it. Note the fancy cast eagle head and beak on the front of this boat- that makes it a "Deluxe" Sea Eagle and from around 1934 at that because there was an increase in freeboard after 1934 that is distinctive. The boat looks like it was skimmed in fiberglass which is probably what has saved it all these years. I have kept the boat stored indoors for all the years that I have owned it and before that it was stored indoors in the basement of a barn. I'm not sure if the engine turns over or not- you can probably count on a rebuild, a refurbishment at the very least. There is nothing old school "Kermath" about this engine- by this time Kermath was just badging up other people's (smaller) engines- I believe that this engine is the same as a Chris Craft Model A or B which I think is derived from a Hercules basic block. Everything that I can see about this boat tells me it has all the potential to be a fantastic restoration candidate. The trailer is road worthy- the used tires I used to haul it home are now all age cracked and dry- you will need to get some new tires on this before towing it and probably bring some portable magnet lights as I cannot remember if the lights on the trailer work or not.
The boat will be sold with a notarized New Hampshire bill of sale. That is legal material to register the boat in any state. I own residences in both NH and KY where the boat is located and my driver's license is New Hampshire, we can go down to the bank and get the bill of sale notarized. I am not sure where the Hull ID number is located on this boat / unsure if any factory original tag with the serial number on it may have fallen off in the intervening 82 years since the boat was made. That is also not a big deal because if we cannot find the serial number we can put that the serial number is lost on the bill of sale and your state will have a very ordinary procedure whereby you get the boat "inspected" (not for seaworthiness) by a sheriff or marine patrol official and they will rubber stamp a state form saying that they could not find any hull ID on the boat either and then your state will issue a hull ID number. This happens more than you may think on boats even from the 1950s and early 1960s before hull ID procedures got to be more standardized.
The boat is located in western Kentucky, zip code 42211, we are not far off the Interstate 24 corridor. I need the boat paid for and picked up within 7 days of auction end unless some other arrangements are made before you bid on the auction. Cash is due upon pick up, just the same as I had to pay cash for the boat myself. Please ask any / all questions you may have before bidding. Thanks!!
