There is some rust on the various bolts, and brackets, but it tows easily, and is solid as a rock. Ive towed it on the highway at 70mph sustained, and it handles well. The boat lines up nice and straight when you drive or winch it on at the ramp. Spare tire mounted to frame. New bearings, tires, hubs, and leaf springs 2014.
This Scout is the perfect boat to take your kids fishing, or to the beach. Would also make an excellent tender to a larger boat. It has amazing sea keeping ability for a small boat. Much softer, and drier ride than a Whaler.
The engine runs perfectly. Starts easily, runs smoothly at all rpms.
Top speed is 29mph with 2 adults, or 1 adult and several kids.
Cruising speed is 18 mph at 3800 rpm, hardly using any fuel, or breaking a sweat.
Unsinkable, and feels like its made from a solid block of wood going over a chop. There isn't a squeak, rattle, or shake to be had.
Everything works. You can own this fabulous little boat for the fraction of a new one, and for all practical purposes, its almost new. The fiberglass is highly polished, and has always been kept waxed. The stainless rails, and trim all look new.
