20ft Swampscott Dory

This is a genuine Heart of Oak Dory. We built her in 2015 and have used her as a display model. All Heart of Oak Dories are totally unique. Since they are built completely by hand no two can ever be the same. This is your chance to own a real Heart of Oak dory without waiting the six months it takes to have one custom built! These boats are as “green” as possible. We at Heart of Oak are serious about environmental responsibility. This boat won’t offend the natural residents of the waters!

She is a Swampscott style dory patterned after the Swampscott Beachcomber. She comes with custom handmade oars specifically sized for her beam. She has a Torqeedo Travel 1003 electric motor sufficient to power a boat twice her size. Also included are sails… a working jib and a main’sl. Her hull, decks and bulkheads are hand laid-up GRP (fibreglass). The brightwork is native Florida Cypress. Again; every part of this boat is made by hand. All hardware is highly polished marine bronze.

She is 20’ LOA with a 6’4” beam. She draws 6” (board up) and 24” (board down). Her fully commissioned displacement is approximately 700 lbs. Her mast height is 15’. Her navigation lights are LED and she has a Hawkeye depth sounder. She has a built-in battery charger.

This boat is most assuredly for a discerning owner. She is, quite literally, a work of art. The owner of this boat is going to draw a LOT of attention. If he is not careful, he will spend the bulk of his time explaining the little vessel to a crowd of onlookers… when he’d rather be sailing!
