1980 Soverel 30' Mark IV
1980 Soverel Mark IV
Description
I am listing this boat for my father. It is a nice 30' Soverel Mark IV. It was dad's toy when he was racing. He took it to several national races for its class and did very well. It has a cabin full of racing and working sails including racing jibs and spinnakers. He quit racing many years ago and developed skin cancer so he can not be in the sun any more, but he could not part with the boat. We had a place to store it at a property on Longboat Key but have since sold the property and Dad has been spending $800 per month to store it at Marina Jack in Sarasota. I clean and re-oiled the interior about 3 years ago. About 2 Years ago we had it hauled, buffed and bottom painted. The hull is cleaned on a monthly basis by a scuba diver who works for the marina. It sits unused at the marina. I finally have convinced dad to give it up. He is now 96 years old and lives in Orlando. I live in St. Louis. I have included all the pictures that I have of the boat. It would be hard to arrange to see the boat before auction ends as we don't have an agent in Sarasota to show the boat. If you are very serious about it, my father would make the trip (5 hours round trip which is pretty hard on a 96 year old) So don't ask to be shown if you are a tire kicker. I have a copy of the survey which was done September of 2015. I will try to post it but I don't see a way to upload a PDF file to the listing. The boat has not been used since the survey but it gets cleaned every other month. I will answer any questions that I can. If you want a copy of the survey please email me at pkribs17@gmail.com. I am setting the reserve bid on what I believe scrap value of the boat is.
On Mar-28-17 at 16:06:35 PDT, seller added the following information:The reserve price is set at $5000. I have had an offer to end the auction and sell for $5400. I do not want to violate Ebay's Terms of Service of the auction. For those of you who are still interested, contact me and I will send you a copy of the certified survey done Sept 2015 stating a $19,000 valuation and a $149,000 replacement cost. For those of you who have offered $4900 or less, I appreciate your offer but for that money I have a friend in Clearwater who has a place to keep it and I will give it to him at auction end.
