Sailboat for sale 28' Newport by Capital Yachts
1977 Newport 28 Newport
Description
*MAJOR PRICE REDUCTION.Just learned from my diver that the boat now needs new bottom paint. That is about a $1250 cost. This is why Iam dropping the purchase price$2000 to a purchase price of $6000. I will pay the slip fee at Chula Vista Marina, where the vessel is for the month of purchase and the month after that giving you plenty of time to find your new home, even if you decide to keep her parked at Chula Vista * This is a Capitol Yachts Newport 28 and she is a fantastic vessel. My family and I have enjoyed her sail in the San Diego Bay. She is a great sailing boat cruising at or above 6 knots easily, even in low winds. This is the perfect sailboat for those that are in the learning phase. In fact, my wife and I learned how to sail with this boat without any instructions or lessons. We have boated our entire lives but sailing was new to us. She is 28 feet long, with a 9 foot beam. The frontV-berth can easily sleep two adults and one small child. The main salon in the middle can sleep 3 adults and there is a quarter berth in the rear that sleeps one adult. There is a private head in the main salon. There is no galley, we just simply utilize the cooler. Plenty of storage. I will sell this boat with 4 various sized head sails that will handle any wind or weather scenario within reason of course. This boat is steered by tiller not wheel and this area can comfortably seat 4 adults and a couple kiddo's. The original gasoline engine has been replaced by the new thing, an all electric drive. We love it and you will too. This option is becoming ever so popular in smaller sailboats like this one. Plenty of power without the fumes and worry of running out of gas, and never those pesky oil changes. If you have wanted to get into sailing but don't know where to begin, buy my boat. I'll take you out in the bay and show you the ropes, super easy, and a ton of fun. This is the boat for you, you will love her, and you will have many years of enjoyment as my family did. It is now time for me and my family to move up. We spotted the perfect 36 footer and as soon as I can part with our beginner boat, we will upsize. She is well cared for in the Chula Vista Marina, south San Diego, CA.
