1961 Alden Challenger 949L Kittywake. She has a fiberglass hull and deck built by Halmatic in England, and a wooden cabin and cockpit complitede by the Molich yard in Hundested, Denmark. Kittywake has teak cabin sides where most Alden Challengers had mahogany. The teak sides were specified by the family who had her built. She has aluminum masts and many sails ( the genoa likes almost new) This is a Project Boat with a rebuilt diesel engine (Westerbeke 4 107 rebuilt to Perkins 4 108) It needs a new cabin top ( I have the marine plywood for this repair ) and a new cockpit sole. Almost all items needed for restoration come with the boat,. I will include with the boat two years free storage with the ability to work on the boat which is located on my property in central Virginia (acess to electricity ect.) This is a solid boat that needs a complete restoration.
