Point Jude daysailer sailboat 16'
1978 Point Jude 137
Description
Good condition. New Gel coat just applied. Main sail has one small spot where sail tape was applied by previous owner. I added a few new extras like the stainless steel heavy duty ladder on the rear, the bass pro hydraulic big wheel trailer jack and new waterproof custom fit cover. I had the boat out recently and it hasno leaks. Rudder is also in good condition.
Trailer has new tires plus an extra spare. Boat also comes with anchor. Motor mount is in excellent condition. This boat is ready to sail or put your own motor on it and use it as a pleasure cruiser or fishing boat. I had an electric trolling motor on it and it worked great. (Motor not included). This is a rare boat, I believe only 1200 were made by Holby marine.
Pictures show wood blocks around the mast, those are temporary and help with transportation as well. Local pick up recommended or a shipping company buyer pays for.
AdditionalDescription:
This beautiful daysailer was designed in 1946 by Edson Scholk and over 1,200 boats were built. Clearly, this boat was intended with stability, safety and comfort in mind. Dinghy racing was not on the designer's mind. The 525 lbs hull should keep the 136 sq.ft. sailplan well behaved and stable. Many well-loved and maintained used boats appear to be available at very reasonable prices. The chined hull will make for relatively flat and dry sailing. Stats: • LOA 15'8" • Beam 5'11" • Draft 8" board up, 3’4” board down • Sail area 136 sqft (main100sqft, jib 36 sqft) – traditional tanbark color preferred • Displacement 525 lbs • Mast height 23'7" • 25 cubic feet of lockable storage • mahogany kickup rudder, traditional laminate tiller • kickup weighted centerboard • teak splashrail around cockpit • teak rub rail • teak laminate hatch covers (two fore, one aft) • removablemotormount
