26' Seaway center console outboard powerboat down east style

Up for auction, I am selling my 26' Seaway center console powerboat.

I purchased this several years from an estate where the boat had sat in storage for twelve years. It was covered and under a roof so aside of being quite dusty, it looked beautiful.

The 10' wide beam and small keel make it the most agile boat I've ever run on the Long Island Sound! It's large bow eats up the typical 1-3' chop and it doesn't roll when at anchor.

I repowered it with the best maintained Yamaha 225 you will ever find! Tony at Beacon Point knows the motor and he said he replaced everything on a yearly basis weather it was needed or not. I bought it from another member from Riverside Yacht Club as the company he works for (executive who deals with Merc. outboards) gave him a new 250..

Though the original gelcoat shines nicely, I was planning on painting it with Awlgrip's "Stars and stripes" which would make this the most incredible boat you've ever seen!

We used the boat for a little cruising, tubing with the kidsand fishing but I own a 50' Hatterasand a 17' Whaler so this mostly sat. In fact, I haven't had it in the water for over two years.

The only issue pertains to the fuel system. When I bought the boat, I knew it had been sitting for 12 years so I pumped the fuel out. Both 75 gallon tanks were full of heavily oiled down two stroke fuel. I repowered the boat, put it in the water, fueled up and then it happened. Fuel in the bilge. I immediately pumped the tanks dry again & put a temporary 27 gallon fuel tank in with a pair of ten gallon reserve tanks. I started checking the fuel lines and found the fill hoses, vent lines and supply lines were badly cracked & dry rotted. We used it several times that summer with just the auxiliary tanks and panned on replacing all the fuel hoses but haven't had five minutes of free time to fix it. I am assuming its hoses but haven't had the aluminum tanks pressure tested yet. It's a bit of a gamble for the buyer. If it's just hoses, you have a $22-$25k boat. If you spend the $7k for a Stars & Stripes grey/blue paint job, refinish the teak & finish the odds & ends, you will have a boat that the brokers tell me would be worth into the low $30k range.

There is a cuddy cabin which sleeps two adults comfortably and space under the removable "V" access panel for a porta potti or you could build in a plumned system.

I also have a NEW Gil Marine outboard motor mounting bracket which came with the boat. There is a forward dodger (covers the front seating area) with blue Sunbrella material and clear plastic to see through as you're driving. It had a full (new) bimini top but the someone took it as it was stored for several years out of sight. All the mounts are still there so it's easy to buy a stock one on Ebay & just bolt it on.

It comes with the Nextrail tandem axle trailer ($8,700 new), two stainless steel props and the new (two year old) helm seat/leaning cushion.
