Accommodations:

  • Salon features an L-shaped settee to port, and bench settee to starboard,

    with drop leaf dining table amidships. On the forward bulkhead a 22” flat panel TV/monitor with integral DVD player, wall mounted to swing in wide arc. Very generous bookshelves, storage, lights, fans plus two overhead opening hatches

  • Galley, aft and to port, one shallow step down, is the U-Shaped galley with great access to the cockpit yet out of the way of foot traffic.

    Deep top-opening refrigerator/freezer has custom heat resistant cutting board top and a

    Crosby holding plate and extra insulation .

    Shipmate 3 burner gimbaled stove with ovenis behind a safety bar to protect the cook.

The main sink faucet will supply hot and cold fresh water, and the small single faucet will

    supply charcoal filtered drinking water from the added aft tanks under the bunk

    Microwaveoven is above stove, plus lights, fan, and roomy storage lockers and drawers. .

    Opening port into the cockpit is handy for ventilation, cords, and supplying needed items to

    the crew.

    The safe propane system consists of a Trident gas sniffer with alarm and automatic shut off

    and a solenoid switch that shuts the gas off at the remote tank.

  • Navigation Station to starboard has three commodious lockers, two shelves, and a slanted top for working with charts. There is a safe inside. Just across the passageway aft is easy access to the engine room, the circuit board, power system switches and voltmeter.

  • The Aft Stateroom contains a large double berth (new innerspring mattress in 2003), storage under, custom lockers port and starboard, drawers, a hanging locker, Force 10 propane heater, and a large opening hatch overhead. Fans lights and speakers supply comforts. On the forward bulkhead of the stateroom is a large beveled mirror with shelves behind door below.

  • The Aft Head compartment with manual head and separate standing stall shower with a seat as well. Good storage in the head, another beveled mirror, lights, the sink, opening port and ventilator above. Head is plumbed to supply the intake with fresh or sea water, selected by turning a thruhull handle.

  • The Forward Stateroom features twin single berths that can join to make a double, a private door to the forward head, a great deal of storage in lockers, drawers, on shelves, plus a hanging locker (currently holding tools).

    This center cockpit vessel has multiple opening ports (with screens), 4 deck hatches, 7 fans, Super Therm insulating head liner and a 2-zone air condition for hot or cold weather.

    Electronics

  • Autohelm 7000 autopilot (with Autohelm 6000 display still mounted in cockpit)

  • Autohelm instruments depth, speed, wind direction, wind speed.

  • Danforth 5” Constellation compass with stainless steel housing. Was professionally serviced in 2010.

  • Horizon Intrepid VHF Radio with remote location in cockpit.

  • Marine Stereo FM/CD Radiowith Bose speakers in salon and aft cabin and selector switch. Outlets but no speakers in cockpit.

  • Raymarine GPS antenna receiver on radar mast.

  • Raymarine network wiring underneath chart table seat, not used recently.

  • Insulated back stay and hull-mounted bronze ground plate (Dyna plate) for use as HAM or SSB radio antenna.

  • Raymarine 24” Radome RD424 24 mile radar mounted on the front of the mast with line guard. Compatible with Raymarine's Classic Chartplotters. Cable routed through mast and waiting for an compatible display

Electrical

  • Air Breeze wind generator. Mounted but not connected, blades in storage so save wear and tear on turbine.

  • 2500 watt Heart inverter with 25 amp, 12v battery charger and control/monitoring panel on galley bulkhead

  • (4) 4D AGM sealed batteries arranged in two banks new in 2010.

  • Optima multi-cell AGM marine starter battery

  • (2) Balmar alternators, a 100 amp and a 160 amp with double pulley. Both have received new harnesses in 2011.

  • Lightening protection by grounding system throughout boat

  • (2) Balmar Smart regulators to control alternator output into battery banks

  • Revamped battery banks and cables with easily accessible switches to combine or isolate the house banks and the engine battery.

  • (2) 135 Solar panels mounted on a custom rack on top of the bimini frame. Rack allows panels to be easily disconnected and removed for safe keeping in severe weather.

  • 60 amp Outbank Controller for the solar panels, provides extra capacity for more panels in the future.

  • (2) 120VAC Shore Power outlets. One for air conditioners, the other for regular shore power..

  • The boat in on the hard at a DIY boatyard on the SE US coast. Not many DIY yards left.

  • Most of the supplies and parts needed for repairs are in the garage which will be turned over to the new owner. It is a couple of miles from the boatyard and rents for $75 a month. Management has approved transferal.

  • Boatyard will be paid in full as soon as the boat is sold, subject to snail mail.

  • Any sales and licensing taxes in your chosen state will be your own responsibility. Boat's current state registration is not transferable to a new owner.


These will be shipped to you when payment is completed.

  • Boat US Coast Guard document has just been renewed and is ready for transfer of ownership with US Coast Guard Vessel Center. They will require a bill of sale which I will supply reflecting the Ebay purchase details.

  • Other important paperwork and receipts. Instructions and information on most boat systems are in boxed binders (see image)

  • At list of projects and repairs I think need to be done/completed at your discretion. May have missed something but nothing major. Available at request during the auction.

Disclaimers


Key to listing details: Rather than clutter an already long list of things I have not noted where a project has not been completed or where a repair needs to be made. I have made a list of those things as I can remember and it will be available.


Key to photographs: In the water and interior shots are a few years old, exterior shots not in the water are recent. Ditto shots of things in storage.


Unicorn has been on the hard for over three years. I have worked on it on and off leaving it closed up the rest of the time. I removed “soft goods” when I moved off the boat, temporarily I thought, and later I moved a lot of other stuff to storage in a garage I rented for the purpose. The storage shots show generally what is in storage, everything pertaining to the boat, most of the materials for larger projects, and many spares etc.


I returned from out of state in the last few months to take photographs and sort out and photograph the garage items. I found water in the boat (I had not put the enclosure up since I was leaving the boat going into hurricane season). Torrential spring rains had gotten into the boat through the companionway slide which is usually covered by the bimini top. It's small drain holes had clogged up forcing water out of the slide troughs into the boat. I had the boat pumped out and cleaned, the batteries recharged. I was told the cables and contacts would need some attention. Consumer electronics inside may have succumbed to the heat and moisture. The marine ones should be fine.


Also the boatyard unplugged the boat to move some outlets around and failed to plug it in again. I believe the inverter/charger ran the batteries down valiantly trying to charge them with no power supply. It should be turned off when the boat is either not connected to shore power or someone is using it for 110 in the boat and is monitoring battery conditions.


This ad represents the boat as well as I can though I cannot 100% guarantee total accuracy. Winch sizes for instance came from the listing when I bought the boat. It said the big alternator was 270 amps but I think it is probably 160 amps and so put that in the listing copy. It may actually be 270 amps..


Because I am not able to show the boat it will not be available to inspect. I have been as thorough about the boats equipment and conditions as possible but because I am not there this sale will have to be
