Description
In 1947 Woody Brown became the father of the modern catamaran building the 38' Manu Kai on the beach in Waikiki. It soon became known as the World's Fastest Sailboat. Woody went on to build a few more catamarans before he decided to just take tourists sailing right off the beach. This boat is known as a Manu Kai 20 a model that had a very limited run. It was purchased from the original owner who ordered it directly from Woody in 1955 and had it shipped to his home in Green Bay, Wisconsin. It is reported that the owner took kids out sailing every summer for the entire time he owned the boat.
I have the original correspondence between Woody and the buyer as well as the original Matson waybills etc. I am the second owner.
The entire boat is in very good condition including the sail and I just spent over $3000 to build a custom trailer which is also included.
This boat can be sailed today but it also a collectible historic boat and may be the only original Woody Brown catamaran left.
Will assist with shipping if outside the area but shipping is the buyers responsibility. I have clear title for boat and trailer.
