Classic Ray Greene Nipper sailboat - fully restored!
1970 Ray Greene
Description
Now is your chance to sail a classic! There are a lot of old boats out there, but this one is almost "like new", fully restored and ready for the up-coming sailing season. Ray Greene was arguably the first to manufacture commercially successful fiberglass boats. Here are a couple of links to pages about Greene and the Nipper: http://www.fiberglassics.com/library/index.php?title=Ray_Greene http://sailboatdata.com/viewrecord.asp?class_id=5662
I completely removed the old floatation foam, reinforced the cockpit sole using walnut staves and replaced the foam with "pool noodles" (very colorful!). Crazing in the hull gel coat was repaired and 3 coats of 2-part epoxy marine paint were applied over 2 coats of primer. Deck has 2 coats of topside. The sail is not original and is a bit short on the foot as you can see in the pics, but works well enough. A better fitting sail would really get this boat going (it's possible to get her on a plane in the right conditions). Priced to sell...we're moving. Starting price wouldn't cover cost of materials. Trailer included, both are titled and registered.
