For sale is my 1985 Dutch Flyer 31, built in Holland by van der Rest Nautic. This has been a great family boat here on the Chesapeake, and is very sturdy in rough weather. Deck is solid fiberglass, so no concerns with core rot. Hull speed is around 7kts. The cabin is very spacious down below, the cockpit offers standing headroom for myself at 6'3", and includes a very spacious forward cabin, as well as a 1.5 berth aft cabin. In 2014, Diversified Marine installed a Raymarine XPS-5 autopilot. The boat was hauled in 2015 in order to remove the worn original teak deck, and replace with a new low maintenance synthetic Flexiteek deck. In 2017, while on the hard, the cockpitscuppers became clogged with leaf debris and the cabin interior suffered cosmetic water damage. BoatUS insurance covered professional cleaning and dehumidification of the boat by acommercial restoration company, and their marine surveyor assessed the boatclaiming only cosmetic damage of the interior teak surfaces and cabin sole.
Prior to hauling, the boat sailed and motored very reliably. A new child on the way and recent move, which positions me about 1.5h away from the boat, make it unrealistic for me to get the boat back in top condition within theforeseeable future and forces me to sell the boat. To get the boat in top condition, the new owner will need to: reinstall cabin headliner panels and reconnect fans, reconnect mast wiring terminals (disconnected when mast was unstepped), sand and oil teak interior surfaces, replace propane gas line from tank to galley stove, service the Lectrasan head treatment system, re-rig the sails and running rigging (all included and in working order), and apply fresh bottom paint. Launch of the boat has already been paid for. I'm selling the boat as-is with no reserve, in order to facilitate a quick sale. I have a clear title for the boat.
