61 foot stern paddlewheel river boat USA
1983 Owner built
Description
This vessel was built by the owner in Sausalito, California and launched in 1983. The hull is ferro-cement and the superstructure is wood and plywood. The beam of the hull is 9' 3" and overall is 11'. Draft is 30" Power is a 53 hp Hercules diesel with a turbo which currently is leaking coolant into the oil. The paddlewheels are serviceable but will be needing repairs. The wooden guards need replacing as will the side doors for the main cabin. Other structural repairs will be minor but it needs cosmetic work too as you can see in the pictures. There are four rudders, two in front of the paddles and two behind. Equipment includes a wood stove, a diesel cabin heater, a composting toilet, a bathtub, a propane stove and an anchor winch. There is work room/tool room forward of the the pilot house. The vessel's interior is quite dry as seems to be the case with many ferro-cement boats. This vessel is documented and so requires a US citizen buyer. It is located near Cathlamet, Washington in the Columbia River.
