Windrider Rave Hydrofoil Trimaran Sailboat / Pryde Sails / Like Nacra F20 iFLY15
2002 WindRider Rave
Description
Hello, I am selling an excellent condition WindRider Rave sailboat complete with sails, all rigging, the beach dolly and road trailer with storage compartment. The Jib and Main are Neil Pryde. The Screecher is made by Calvert Sails and has a Harken roller furling attached. They are all in very good condition. The foils are excellent with no damage and the hulls are in great condition without any cracks, damage, or repairs. This boat has never been turtled or pitch-poled. Mast is perfectly straight.
I am a 67 year oldsemi-retiredcruising sailer with a bad shoulder and did not have any problems sailing the boat alone. I sailed it on Long Island Sound sporadically for two seasons and have owned the boat for less than three years. It handled and sailed on the sound very well, and I had it out in conditions ranging from less than ten knots to over thirty.
I bought it from an engineer who kept it in immaculate condition and sailed it in fresh water lakes. I am a life-long cruising sailer who has owned boats from 25-35 feet long and bought the Rave when I was in between cruising boats I guess to relive my youth a little bit racing dinghies on the sound. I now have a new (used) 33 foot steel vessel I am preparing for off-shore cruising and this is what all my free time (and money) is going towards, and so I am selling the Windrider.
As you probably know they only made 136 of these and it is as fast as an America's Cup 40. There are few other boats on the market that can do what it does, are built as well as it is, and sold anywhere close to this price.
This boat is incredibly strong and built to last a lifetime. She is ready to sail now and needs nothing except a little cleaning.
I would like to get somewhere close to what I am asking but am negotiable so please feel free to make an offer. The boat is in Fairfield County CT. I may be able to meet you somewhere within 100 miles or so to transfer the boat if you are interested but are far away, but if you can come here to see it first and pickup in person that would of course be best.
Attention International Buyers:
As I haveexperiencemoving full containers to and from Europe,I am willing to assist you with shipping the boat via container and cargo ship granted you pay the shipping costs.
While the Rave could squeeze into a 20ft container, it will be best to use a 40ft "High Cube" to give maximumclearancefor the mast. Interestingly, the price difference between a 20ft and 40ft container to Europe is only around $50-$100.
In order to minimize trucking costs what is needed is a shipping provider that offers Roll On Roll Off and Full Container Load Service or RORO / FCL. The port of origin will be New York / Newark. A shipping provider who offers this will allow us to bring the boat directly to the port and drive it into the container, and for you to pick it up and drive it off. This will save $1000-2000 as the trucking to and from the port is always the most expensive part of shipping containers.
For you reference I have found this website that lists some RORO providers:
