For sale is a project classic plywood lapstrake runabout, one I never got around to. It comes with a trailer and original 40 hp Evinrude with the full service manual issued by the factory. I have the New York registration.
This boat has particularly beautiful lines and has everything required to duplicate needed parts. This will be a labor of love, skill and persistence but much easier than building a new boat from scratch.
The plywood planking is in decent shape as are most of the steam bent white oak ribs. It is fastened with clinched copper nails that are in good shape. The deck will need to be completely replaced and the out-wales and possibly the in-wales. A tree limb fell on one of the windshields but did not break the auto safety glass. All the pieces are there to use as patterns to duplicate from mahogany. With new decks of 1/4" Okume ply (not included) sealed and glued with epoxy the boat should be salvageable.
There are two main stringers running fore and aft that will need to be replaced to stiffen the bottom and the transom needs work too.
I will add pictures of the motor which is 1950s vintage Evinrude Lark II. The original Evinrude controls and steering wheel are still mounted on the boat.
There is no title. Will have signed NY Registration and Bill of Sale. Tennessee does not title boats.
Since having knee replacement it is no longer possible for me to complete the restoration. The trailer is worth $100.
