1993 Sea Ray 380 SS (SUN SPORT) Boat

This listing is for a 1993 Sea Ray 380 SS (Sun Sport) Cruiser with 606 total hours. However, in 2005 the owner wanted better performance and upgraded to MerCruiser 496 HO (425 HP) fuel injected engines and these have a little under 200 hours on them. The sale includes a custom built 2015 aluminum trailer in good condition.

As the prototype for the million-dollar 630 Super Sun Sport, the Sea Ray 380 Sun Sport was specifically designed for entertaining family and friends.The open layout and signature cockpit made this a favorite party boat for the jet setters at the time.The boat's European lines have been further enhanced with an optional brushed aluminum radar arch, windshield frame and hull ports.

This vessel is 38 ft long with an 11 ft beam. This particular model was upgraded at a cost of over $50k (see receipt) to the 496 Fuel Injected HO Motors that put out 425hp. This is a substantial benefit this boat provides compared to all the others that were carbureted.

The sale also includes a 40 ft aluminum 3 axle 19,000 lb trailer built in 2015 which has less than 2000 miles on it and has only been in the water twice (mint condition).

The boat was always maintained to the highest standards including rebuilding the drives in 2019.

The current owner has owned the boat since 2008, used primarily in the Great Lakes area until 2015, then the current owner had a custom built trailer made and had it trailered to Florida.

The last time the boat was in the water was approx 2 ½ yrs ago. The boat needs minor work to make it perfect which the owner is not willing to undertake and that is reflected in the price (owner has had some medical issues which are forcing this sale).

PRESENT CONDITION

The boat is sitting on its 3 axle trailer in a neighbor’s backyard. It has 4 brand new batteries. It starts and runs to temperature. The last time this boat was used was 2 ½ yrs ago and at that time everything on the boat was working other than the lower refrigerator. The AC, heat, trimtabs, drives, bow thruster, upper fridge, were all working at that time.

UPGRADED ENGINES WITH LOW HOURS AND SUPER NICE COSMETICALLY!

EXTERIOR

The boat is in nice shape cosmetically without any major flaws. The gel coat looks pretty good with just a basic wash but would look spectacular if it were buffed and waxed. The black canvas top was replaced in 2012. The boat has ablative bottom paint.

INTERIOR

The forward cabin was completely upgraded over the years and is in near immaculate condition. The cushions have all been replaced and look like new and so does the carpet which has been replaced and kept covered since. The lower cabin refrigerator does not operate and is easily replaceable (helm station fridge works fine).

The head is super clean and has a stand up shower.

The helm station has always been covered and it is in great shape. There are two problem cushions that fit the back of the circular style seat that need some attention (vinyl is still fine but wood frame is deteriorated).

ENGINE / DRIVES

496 HO (425 HP) Fuel Injected Twin Engines with approx 200 hours and run well

Merc Deluxe flush kits allow easy engine flush with quick release. ($1200 option)

External mount bow thruster installed 2019 ($7000 option)

Drives rebuilt 2018

All 4 batteries replaced in June 2023, engines start right up and idle well. The engines were upgraded and feature fuel injection rather than traditional carburetors that came on the early boats. They have substantially more horsepower than the original stock units and propel the boat to 52 mph. All maintenance up to date and only performed by the local certified Mercruiser service dealer.

The generator ran perfectly when it last started in 2015 but will likely need to be serviced to get it running.

TRAILER

Includes a 40 ft 3 axle aluminum trailer rated at 19,000 lbs built in 2015 with like new tires. The trailer has less than 2000 miles on it and has only been in the water twice, and has never seen salt water as the boat was lifted and off the trailer using a strap when placed in the water. The bracket the winch mounts to will need to be replaced as it is bent slightly. We are also willing to sell without the trailer.

THE BOAT IS NOT PERFECT BUT VERY NICE OVERALL AND COULD EASILY BE MADE PERFECT

Although I tried my best to describe whatever was needed this vessel is used and as such is being sold as is without any warranty whatsoever. Feel free to send a mechanic to look at it. If you fly in I can pick you up at the airport. The boat could be trailered home.
