23’ SeaCraft Tsunami
1979 Potter Built Hull
As Is Where Is
Offered for sale is a 1979 23’ SeaCraft Tsunami. Twin 3.0 Liter Mercruiser I/O under 300H, to be exact 269H port and 270 starboard, Teak swim platform, back to back helm chairs, teak doors and trim in decent shape for the age, outriggers, Bimini top, SS bow rail, SS props, trim tabs, newer batteries. Title in hand. Recently we replaced all spark plugs, starboard fuel pump, fuel water separators, and filters. The carburetor’s look to be in need of service/rebuild at the moment we can’t get the motors fired up aside from a sputter. Both motors turn over with no hesitation. Trailer is unknown year, decent frame, but is not road worthy! You will need to make arrangements to remove the boat from the current trailer and place on yours or hire a service. If the trailer is wanted we will sell for cheap, only a bill a sale will be offered on the trailer. Boat was lift kept for most of its life with a full cover on it. From the notes in the record books the transom was previously replaced by a marine center in Deerfield FL. The Engines and outdrives are not original have been replaced and look great. The yellow hull color looks dull when dry but not bad when wet, you may be able to get some additional life out of the hull paint with Poli Glow or similar product. Boat has never been bottom painted. Many original documents available and maintenance notes. When going over all electrical systems all appear to be working, trim tabs, tilt trim, bilge pumps, blowers. The Engines and outdrives look to be in good shape, but not running at this time. I am not a mechanic just my observation.
At this time the boat is in Jupiter FL at a friend’s house. Unfortunately I thought I would have more time to work on this boat but with my job, new baby and limited time I do not. My loss your gain! This boat does not need much in my opinion for it to be on the water. With my limited mechanical background I am guessing a carburetor job and fresh fuel most likely is all that is needed. Yes some soft spots in the floor due to the age but usable in my opinion. Yes the boat will need some TLC, it has been sitting for almost two years.
Please do some research on these older Potter Built SeaCrafts and you will see why they are still holding their value and continue to have a better ride than most new production boats. The possibilities on this boat are endless, I have seen converted to outboards, towers installed, turned into Palm Beach style day boats or commercial fishing boats.
You will be responsible for removing the boat from the current trailer and putting it on yours or making arrangements to have it moved. This is being sold as is where is due to the age. This boat is also being sold locally; I hold the right to cancel or remove this listing if sold before the listing ends.
Good Luck Bidding!!
