Very good condition classic fiberglass boat and trailer. Suitable for immediate use or long-term restoration, whatever you choose. All pictures taken 10/7/18. Please message mefor additional information.
Boat:
- PA registered 14' 1961 Penn Yan fiberglass outboard runabout. Year and manufacturer subject to debate. I do not doubt this is an early 60's boat but I cannot figure out the manufacturer. Original hull ID tag may still be under the extra transom stiffening plates. Current PA registration is documented and transferrable. As PA did not require titles for boats until relatively recently, this boat does not have one.
-Lower hull is original gelcoat and in excellent condition. A few spider cracks and repaired nicks to the bow but nothing major. Exterior of hull, keel, and transom are solid and straight. Bottom of hull is a bit dirty and scratched due to use. Aftermarket outboard bracket is solidly mounted and added only to run a more modern 35 Hp motor. Bilge plug included.
- Topside is original gelcoat but has been repainted over the years. A few spider cracks but overall quality is very good. All cleat mountings are solid. Most recently resprayed and polishedas you see in the photos this month for preparation for sale. Underlying paint was scuffed prior to painting but some previous brush strokes/chips/cracks/repairs remain. Rubstrip shows some shrinkage cracks and has been painted.
- Interior/bilge is in good condition. There appears to have been some previous patching/repainting done near the bow andkeel area. Hull is largely fiberglass with a small tapered portion towards the transomwhich might contain a layupconsisting of plywood for stiffening in the planing area. Interior/bilge fiberglass layer at this location is somewhat softin a few spots but does not seem to affect outer hull strength. Front and rear seats have crackingin gelcoat/paint finish at junction between seat and back. Throwable cushion shown in some pics not included.
- Nautiform windshield, Wilcox Crittenden steering wheel, bow light, stern light socket, deck cleat, and transom handles appearoriginal.Gunwaleand fin cleats are newerproduction items. Bow light lenses and stern light pole are invery goodcondition and wiring is intact.
- Windshield is cracked on one side as shown in pics with some scratching. Well polished prior to listing and in overall ingood condition.
- Steering wheel has shrinkage cracks but is otherwise solid and recently repainted prior to listing. Cable pulley steering system remains and will include old style OMC outboard handle pulley steering bracket (not shown).
- Choke/Starter panel controls are missing one button but wiring is intact.
- Evinrude Simplex remote throttle/shift control has been cleaned and redone. Smooth operation on both controls with very good condition original cables and ends.
Trailer:
- Lone StarRoadMaster 900 tilt trailer with keel rollers and transom bunks. All original except for bunks, lights/wiring, tilt hinge bolt, bearing buddies, and wheels/tires. Estate sale find. Included PA title is signed but not notarized. May or may not be a problem depending on your situation.
- Wheels and tires are new as of 10/7/18. Previous wheels/tires (dryrot) will be included.
- Bearings appear to be in good condition. Bearing Buddies missing both caps.
- Tilt hinge boltreplaced with Grade 8 bolt/washers/nut/locknut. Original bolt and castle nut were rusted fast and broke during removal. Will be included for reference. Tilt feature works perfectly.
- Lights work however due to the multipiece design of these older tilt trailers, a ground wire needs to be run from the plug back to the light fixtures. Temporary jumper is installed fromplug to tilt hinge bolt to ensure operation however a more permanent wiring solution is recommended for normal use.
- Tongueball latch does not function properly and requires the lever to be wired down during travel. Recommend replacing with new.
