Description
This is an absolutely fabulous family and entertaining boat, 24 feet long, large diameter toons for a smooth ride, tons of seating, a great sound system, and plenty of room for up to 17 passengers. Our kids have enjoyed tubing behind this boat for many years, but they are approaching their teenage years and want to do more aggressive watersports, so it's time to sell.
Loads of Features for Comfort and Convenience:
- Kenwood Marine Stereo: Flip down faceplate for internal iPod storage; FM/AM and Aux inputs; Remote Control display at front of the boat, and 4 powerful JL Audio Marine Speakers.
- Dual batteries with battery switch and shutoff, so you're never left with a dead battery.
- Hummingbird Fish Finder (older but works)
- Added Charging Port and Locking Glove Box in the center console.
- Removable Ladder (2 different attachment locations)
- Removable Table (3 different mounting locations)
- Power Tilt and Trim Motor Mount
- 20 Gallon fuel tank (back left corner with external fill inlet)
- Huge sun deck on the back and a large open space on the bow.
- LOADS of storage! Each seat flips up for storage as well as more storage in the console.
Seating:We purchased this boat 8 seasons ago. At that time all of the seating had been replaced (about 2-3 years old when we purchased it). Since then it's only seen modest usage, about 30 hours per summer. When not in use it has always been covered on our hoist. The seating is all in excellent condition: no sun fading, no rips or tears. All of these pictures were taken last August before we put the boat back in storage. Each winter it was professionally winterized, shrink wrapped and stored, and then prepped for use each spring.
Console, Carpet, Exterior:The carpet and console appear original. The carpet is a grey turf like material, it is worn but not torn or ripped. The vinyl on the console is faded and cracked in spots. As you can see in the pictures, it has a few wear spots in the corners but it's still very sturdy and solid. There is a dent in the left rear panel (pictured), this is purely cosmetic, no structural damage. As you can imagine there are little dings and nicks here and there, but all it's in very good condition. We have always taken excellent care of this boat and it and has served us very well.
Motor:The motor is not original to the boat, its a75HP Mercury outboard (boat is max rated for a 125HP). We were told that the motor is a 2001 model year, and I believe that to be accurate by looking up the serial number (pictured, please verify yourself). The boat does 21MPH (by GPS). The spring in the throttle control on the console needs to be adjusted, as it will gradually back off from full throttle, but just push it forward again. It never really bothered me enough to fix it as we were never in a hurry while enjoying this boat. We have never had any issues with the motor, and we've properly maintained it each year. There is no hour meter on the motor, so I really have no way of advising it's age other than the manufacturing date. We put about 30 hours on the boat each year, but in all likelihood it's closer to 20 hours. We used this boat more on the hoist than on the water, it's like a an outdoor living room. We've been advised that it will need a routine service refresh at some point in the next few years (estimated $750-1,200), as is typical for a motor of it's age. I am not a mechanic, I have no way of knowing when or if this service will be required in the near term. The motor performed beautifully for us last season, and has been in storage since then.
Hoist:Weare selling theboat hoist too ($500). It's not included with this auction, but negotiable.
It is currently still shrink wrapped from the winter. I can assure you that these pictures are accurate, but I do not want to pull the shrink wrap off until the boat is sold. If you are the winning bidder, and don't feel these pictures are accurate, I'll cancel the sale.
This boat is being sold As-Is. If you would like to come see the boat, it's currently being stored near Torch Lake, in Kewadin, MI 49648 (20-30 minutes east of Traverse City, MI). Boat is for sale locally, seller reserves the right to end the auction early to an in-person buyer.
On May-24-17 at 12:05:47 PDT, seller added the following information:UPDATE: I just spoke to our marina's service department to get more clarification on the recommended service for the motor. They are recommending that the Lower Unit be rebuilt this year. Alternatively, the Lower Unit can be replaced with a new unit or remanufactured unit. These are readily available online, ranging from $800-1,500 depending on the source and option you choose. These replacement Units are ready to install and bolt on easily. Please take this into account when bidding.
