Chris Craft 17' Special Runabaout

Hello Ebay, thanks for looking at my ad! This is a 1950 Chris Craft special runabaout 17'. The boat itself is in very good condition and would be perfect for a complete restoration. The craft has all original hardware, the windshield glass is in great condition and unbroken. The transom and bottom were overhauled in 2006, but needs a few planks repaired. The boat has been in storage for three years and will need to be completely looked over prior to being dropped in the water (hull swelled, etc.) The brightwork will need to be re-done as well. Again this is a great boat for restoration, it is not turn key. The motor in the boat is a Hercules model K 95 HP. It has a recently fresh rebuild (2002), but the actual hours on the build is unknown to me. All of the receipts for the rebuild are in my file and I would be more than happy to produce those documents. I have the original documentation for the boat as well as restoration documentation from previous owners. The boat comes with a trailer, which is not in very good shape. New bearings were installed when I bought the boat, those are good. The trailer has it's share of rust, most presentable on the outermost part of the axle near the spindles and the spring perches. I have trailered the boat to and from my house to the shop which is 10 miles each way with no problems, but I would not take it on the highway. I will travel up to 250 miles, you can hire a hauler or you can pick up the boat yourself. I have a car trailer I would put the boat/trailer on to trailer it any significant distance.
