Up for auction is my International One Design Sailboat (IOD) . Built in 1988 by Able Marine in Southwest Harbor Maine and sailed in the Northeast Harbor fleet. She was moved to the Fishers Island Fleet in 2008 and raced there until I purchased her in 2010, and moved her to the Buzzards Bay area. Originally set up as a one design race boat complete with custom pedestal in the center of the cockpit to handle most running rigging, I have spared no expense in transforming her into a sleek, fast Gentleman's Day-Sailor. She is easily solo-sailed or can be a great platform for a crew. She can remain a wonderful Gentleman's Day-Sailor or with very little effort can be legally raced in any IOD class race or regatta.

As of March 2016 Boat has been under cover for the winter and is on her trailer ready for transport. To prepare her for the season she would need some freshening of brightwork and bottom paint.

Trailer Custom built tandem axle trailer built by TRIAD Trailers. Some lights need to be replaced however the trailer is roadworthy.
This wonderful boat is in very good condition. However, the topsides are looking a bit tired and could use refreshing. If you are looking to race her in IOD class competition all you would have to do is tie off or remove the lazy jacks and toping lift. You could also re-attach the spinnaker sheet winches to the top of the house. The custom pedestal is included with the boat in the event the new owner would like to re-install it but it is not a requirement to race.
This boat needs nothing but a new captain. In the four years I have owned her I have yet to go out and not get great comments from other boaters. She looks great, and sails like a dream. Some of the pictures you see are from enthusiastic sailors. Easily driven in a light wind, and yet able to stand up to the afternoon chop that frequents the Buzzards Bay area in the afternoons. I am a firm believer in engineless sailing and made most of my sails without the need for an auxiliary motor. Of course when the wind dies it's nice to be able to drop sail and start a motor. For those occasions I purchased a Torqeedo electric motor (see pictures) and had a custom motor mount fabricated. The custom motor mount is included but the motor is not. There is a battery aboard and it operates the masthead light and electric bilge pump. She is currently at a local boat shop and can easily be accessed for an inspection or survey. She does not have a head, however I carry a cleanwaste portable toilet (which I recommend). You can find them online.
