1957 Chevrolet - 1961 Harvey- Custom made show boat
Description
Well, Guys-Gals, This is a one time shot at buying something completely unique. Your friends may say they saw one like it but it is highly unlikely as we customized a 1961 Harvey into what you see. The side stainless and aluminum is from a 1957 Chevy Bel Air with the working taillights from a 1961 Corvette. This was a two year project my brother took on.He completely rebuilt the boat putting in new Spars of oak and new floors with new fiberglass covering the new Marine Grade plywood. The windshield was custom made out of Canada. The motors are Mercury 58As of approximately 45 HP,completely rebuilt - it took us 5 mercs to find enough good parts to reassemble 2 really nice motors. The interior is a copy of a 57 Chevy Bel air to keep with the theme. My brother and I took it out only 1 time to a local freshwater lake.It appears to go right at 50 according to the speedo-that is plenty fast.My brother passed away and I was going to put the boat in my estate but none of my relatives have any interest. I really used it as a show boat towing it behind my 58 Chevy red and white convertible. It never went to a show where it didn't win at least 1 award -usually People's Choice- and at one boat show we won 3 of the 4 awards they gave out- beating boats which cost many thousands more. To give you an idea as to the quality, the boat is Gel Coated NOT painted. The boat originally had 1 motor so we had to widen the bay for 2. The steering has been upgraded to Rack and Pinyon so no more Ropes. The trailer which we bought brand new goes with the boat,of course. The boat should go to someone who will enjoy it- Maybe someone with a 57 Chevy.Just come over, hook it up and head to a show. The deposit is NON-refundable so no cold feet, please. Have Fun.
