1957 FAMOUS CRAFT WOODEN RUNABOUT RACE BOAT ONLY THREE WERE MADE ! - RARE
1957 FAMOUS CRAFT 39
Description
This very rare FAMOUS CRAFT #39 Runabout was designed and built in 1957 by JOHN & JAN RINKER in Goshen Indiana. Only 3 1957 Famous-Craft boats were built with the adjustable rear after-Plane. This was done to decrease the porpoising effect due to the narrow bottom because of the large "Roll up" Chines. That boat originally came from out east & it was never raced. A father bought it for his kids to play with using a small motor. It was found in the original boathouse. The boat was refinished by Stu Sills at Sodus Point N.Y. . This Famous Craft boat is pictured on the April 2005 Calendar issue from the Antique Outboard Motor Club, the picture was taken at the Tomahawk National Meet in the water, just after a demonstration run. This Famous Craftboat has the very scarce molded plywood hull obtained from a Canadian builder. This is the same hull used on the Rinker race boat but the Famous-Craft has a much more attractive top portion of the boat.As you can see in the pictures, this rare FAMOUS CRAFT runabout is QUALITY built and in beautiful condition. It is completelyrigged and the snap on hull cover is in excellent shape. FAMOUS CRAFT boats are very rare especially in this condition. Whether you display this FAMOUS CRAFT runabout or race it, this is a chance to own a piece of marine history. This is a pick up only sale or we can arrange delivery at buyers expense.
