The starting price is low because this lovely boat has multiple projects that need to be finished. That being said someone with a free weekend and some knowledge of sailboats could have this boat in sail anywhere condition in no time at all. It will however take a bit more work to get this boat 100% finished. There may be some small projects not listed below but I have done my best to list everything.
Needed to Sail:1. Install headsail furler or convert sails to hank on. All of the parts for the furler are included, including new Harken furling line blocks.2. Mount a foot block for the mainsheet. Block is included just needs to be secured to the deck and bedded.3. Bend on genoa sheets. There are no genoa sheets included.
Projects1. Install galley countertop formica and re-install cabinets. (There is new 3/4" marine plywood countertops. The original cabinets are included and only have to be screwed in place)2. Build a new battery box. (I planned to install the batteries behind the engine. You can put them wherever you like)3. Add a shelf to the new storage cabinet in the galley.4. Finish the cabinet behind the head. (I was going to put a countertop on it and store an ice chest on top. The countertop plywood is already cut)5. Build a cabinet across from the head. (I was going to make a wet locker / storage area.)6. Fair and gelcoat old hardware mounting holes in deck. (Holes are epoxied)7. Purchase and Install cabinet doors for new cabinets.8. New Mainsail Cover (The old cover is in decent shape but does not fit very well with the Tides Marine Sail Track)9. Replace traveler control lines. (Old lines still work but are shabby. I already have new lines)10. Add second water fill to deck. (The original system would only fill the port tank 30%. SS deck fill included.)11. Run mast cables thru deck. (Blue Sea cable glands included)12. Replace deck navigation lights with LED. (Hella LED Port, Starboard, and Stern all included)13. Purchase and Install a windlass. (If you want one. I planned to use a Lofrans Manual)14. Companionway woodwork needs to be resealed. (A bit of rain water comes in where the wood meets the fiberglass)15. Companionway drop boards need some work. (They are plywood and are delaminating but are usable.)
Feel free to ask me any questions. I know this boat very well. All of the pictures were taken February 16, 2018.
If the boat does not sell I will begin hiring out the work to get this boat finished and the price will go up substantially. Therefore, if you are looking for a great deal and are capable of doing a bit of carpentry you better place a bid.
I will NOT be able to show the boat during the auction.
Boat is USCG Documented.
The boat is in the water at a marina in Kemah TX. Slip is paid until the end of March.
