22' Vintage Catboat, with two 2-cycle outboards; self-bailing cockpit; cushions in cabin; GPS; indoor head, sink, and stove.
I am selling this Catboat for my father-in-law, who gave me this description:
This catboat was built by Vintage Catboat in 1975, on the northern fork of Long Island, NY. The company failed after 2 years, as they could not compete with Marshall Catboats, who had an established clientele. Vintage Catboats are strongly built. I have 50 years experience building and sailing multihulls from 15 feet to 50 feet in length, and I have modified the boat to fit the demands of the 21st century...
I have modified the rig with a full battened main with jiffy reefing. The modifications I have made allow one to eliminate the centerboard, resulting in a spacious cabin with a daggerboard 12 inches to starboard. The old gas engine is gone and two 2-cycle outboards can be used to motor sail when desired. The full battened rig allows for quick and safe dropping of the sail in minutes with no gaff. Zip up the sail in 2 minutes and head for the mooring. Includes cushions in cabin with space to sleep 3 people.
The boat has sailed to Block Island, Fire Island, Narragansett Bay, Buzzards Bay, all of Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket, and Cape Cod including Provincetown. She is easy and fun to sail. I have sailed her single-handed, and with friends, as many as 3 adults and 4 children. The boat is in great condition and available to see at Concordia Boat Yard in South Dartmouth, MA. I am now 84 years old and moved to Harvard, MA, 80 miles from Buzzards Bay. I have greatly enjoyed this boat. Now it's your turn!
$12,500 negotiable
