Force 5 Competition Sailboat (Laser class) Built by AMF
1985 AMF Force 5
Description
This is a 14 foot racing class hull, low profile racer or boat great for teaching sailing or leveraging your acquired skills. Its the next logical step to one who has mastered a Sunfish, got bored with a Laser, or one with experience who wants a great thrill and all the sailing techniques used to max out the performance of a small class race hull, and even join Force 5 clubs found all over the US. This hull is the workhorse predecessor to the Laser hull, yet is more robust in hull design, controls, and speed.
The sail area is 91 sq.ft, and is the sleeve type sail which slides over, and down the mast. This eliminates obstructional airfoil furling of the leading edge of the sail to enable full direction of all airflow heading into the sail area formed by the below adjustable controls
Downhaul Adjustment
Boom Adjustment (Harkin Ratchet Block)

I am the original owner and bought it new. I have sailed this in some rough water (Long Island Sound) and more so on inland lakes across New England, New York, and Michigan. It slides very nicely and quietly, especially on a tack it gives a very fun ride, even more so on a reach, and can nearly keep up with some 14 foot Hobie Cats. I am selling it because I no longer use it, and it is in great condition, stored indoors, well cared for, and without fiberglass damage. The centerboard and rudder are both hardwood.
It is a white hull with multi-blue striping accents, weighing approximately 145 pounds. It can be handled on a sand beach docking by one person. The sail is royal blue, light blue, and white.
