Just arriving - the nicest 2001 Boston Whaler Montauk 17 anywhere.
One, senior owner since new - yes just 1 owner! - and he's in his 70s. Garage kept since new. Never left in the water. Never bottom painted. Freshwater boat. No holes drilled anywhere. If you're looking for exceptional, this one is a nice as they get. Again - there are no holes drilled anywhere on, or in this boat.
She’s outfitted with the following - -Factory Bimini Top -Factory Welded Bow & Side Rails -Factory Swim Platform -Factory Comfort & Fishing Package - Including Bow Cushion, Cooler Cushion, Console Backrest Cushion and Rod Holders -Full Custom Cover -Galvanized Trailer - also in excellent condition She’s powered by a 2002 90 horsepower Johnson -this very low hour, senior owned outboard was the last of the great carbureted two strokes. Built by Bombardier. More powerful, reliable, and fuel efficient than their older counterparts. I love these late 90’s Classic 17’ Montauks. These were transitionary boats, still maintaining the classic hull, while trading out the antiquated teak and mahogany for a more modern, user friendly, all fiberglass interior. The updated look is handsome, more practical, and easier to maintain, yet respectful of the boats original design, purpose, and feel. Other updates from this time period include - A beefier, heavy duty rub rail that wraps around and protects the entire hull. Welded bow rails - no more lose, rattling, riveted fittings! A better, more substantial stainless steel bimini top. These somewhat subtle changes were both overdue, and necessary to compete in a world of modern boat production and design that was leaving Boston Whaler behind. Our exceptional 2001 Montauk was one of the last of the Classics. Production wound down in early 2002, with the introduction of the all new 170 Montauk, marking the beginning of the Montauk’s post classic era. This exceptional Montauk is offered at $28k. There are many less expensive options out there, this one however, may be the nicest we've ever had (and that's saying something!), and certainly she's the nicest, all original Montauk on the market.
