Description

Offered for sale is our beloved 1939 Chris Craft 19’ Deluxe Runabout with the original 140 HP “M” model engine.

Per the hull card, it was originally delivered to Lake Arrowhead in 1939 and named "Lucky Boy" as shown on the enclosed picture taken sometime in the 40's.

Re-discovered and found in a Lake Arrowhead garage in the late 1980's, it was brought down the hill and went through a complete restoration (down to the frames) in the early 1990's with a West System bottom by California Classic Boats. The engine was also completely rebuilt.

This boat is considered to be highly rare due to its single covering board construction and Bugatti style windshields. Apparently there are only a handful of these "barrelsterns" with this configuration in existence !

The boat still looks extremely fresh having received a recent cosmetic restoration with new varnish, bottom paint and a completely rebuilt and painted trailer. Additionally the engine has a fresh tune up & oil change as well as a rebuilt carburetor, fuel pump and new battery. The electrical system has been converted from 6 to 12 volts for reliability and convenience.

The current owner acquired the boat in 1993 and has been lightly used in fresh water at ACBS sanctioned boat shows .She has placed multiple times in the pre-war runabout class in both Lake Tahoe and Lake Arrowhead shows.

It has never been put away wet or left stored with standing water...No rot whatsoever

Boat is located in Southern California and stored inside our hangar at Chino Airport

Recent compression specs for a cold engine are as below:

1 - 135 psi (front of engine/flywheel end)

2- 133 psi

3 - 136 psi

4 - 135 psi

5 - 140 psi

6 - 142 psi

Standard compression specification for this engine is 120 psi, this engine shows well above that !

Happy bidding and please don't hesitate to email for additional information.
