1947 Chris Craft Wooden Boat Model, U22 245, hull 705
1947 Chris Craft
Description
In 2002 I found the boat in Michigan and brought it to Mount Dora, FL to work on it at The Temple. The process included removing and replacing the bottom frames as needed, 6 mm okoume plywood installed prior to bedding cedar planks with 5200.. The hull planks were removed, frames replaced as neede, then sheeted with 4 mm okoume, prior to installing cedar planks also bedded in 5200. Decks and furniture were installed using Philipine mahogony. A Chrysler M7 engine was replaced with a Crusader 250 hp V* which was rebuilt by Custom Marine Enginers of Cleveland, Ohio. The original engine is included along with a Danforth anchor w/50' of line, four tie lines, 7 life jackets placed under the seats for easy access, storage cabinet port side, spare prop, roadworthy tandem axle trailer and waterline cover.
