1979 Glastron Carlson CVX-18 Boat with Trailer
1979 Glastron CVX-18
Description
Up for bid, 1979 Glastron Carlson CVX-18. Power is from a Mercruiser 228 with 305 Chevrolet with a mild Summit Racing cam. This boat will run a little over 50 mph. Mechanical upgrades and replacements include (within the last four years): New plastic gas tank and sender, all gauges replaced with factory originals, new crankshaft/ bearings and rebuilt heads, new distributor, new water manifolds, new starter and marine alternator, new power steering pump, new auto bilge pump. Trailer bunks were replaced last season. The deck from the gas tank back to the engine was replaced with marine ply and fiberglass about five years ago, as well as the seat frames. Mechanically the boat is good. The outdrive works but sometimes does not catch in reverse.
Other accessories included: large box of outdrive gaskets and other parts, probably about $200 worth, spare stainless propeller. Big roll of blue vinyl, enough for all of the interior.
This boat has been used in brackish water for many years. Most of the external fittings have been upgraded to stainless.
The boat is currently fully assembled and ready for the water. The pictures of the deck work and engine "in progress" are from a few years ago.
Boat comes with clear title and current Texas registration for boat and trailer.
The trailer is solid (black painted steel), but is made from two different trailers welded together. It has stainless steel running gear. Fenders are included in the deal, but need to be welded on.
Motivated seller, low reserve.
