Description

Loaded, center cockpit, shoal draft, 3-cabin liveaboard sailboat located in Mexico...just 5 hour drive south of Tucson, AZ. Live comfortably on this boat as it has a larger interior than any other 35 foot boat out there. Our family of 4 lived on this boat full-time for 14 months. So if you've ever wanted to live and sail in Mexico and the Sea of Cortez here is your chance. You can live in the marina or stay at anchor using her on-board systems (truly off-grid). Compare her against the features and price of other liveaboard vessels.
Why are we selling? We love this boat and she has taken good care of us. We knew we were going to have to relocate for work soon, so we were planning on hauling her out and keeping her. Unfortunately we having to move to NYC...so we must swallow our pride and sell her because we know that it will be expensive to live there and we want to keep extra funds in the bank for big city living. We also have no idea when we would be able to come back and check up on her, so instead of her sitting in the storage yard waiting for us to return, she can go to a good home. Since we would like to sell ASAP, the highest bid will get to take care of her like she has taken care of us!
***THIS BOAT IS BEING SOLD AS-IS FOR A QUICK SALE. SHE IS SEAWORTHY AND IS NOT DAMAGED, WRECKED, OR SUNK!!! WE HAD A BUYER WHO BACKED OUT AT THE LAST MINUTE AND WE LEAVE APRIL 6. All boats have things that need done so in full disclosure...here are ours:
-Seawater faucet in galley needs replacing. The pump works, but the switch/valve/faucet broke and needs to be replaced. They don't make the same one anymore so an exact replacement won't be possible. Will need to figure out a switch and faucet solution as the pump is not a pressure pump, it needs current applied to output water. So right now it's a hole with two wires and a hose sticking out.
-Shower hose connection broke off sink faucet. So you have the choice to replace with same or install a dedicated shower control.
-Jib furling sheet: The furling sheet chafed during a big wind storm a couple weeks ago and is almost worn through. It is toward the end of the line, so I might be able to swap it end for end and cut it off, but haven't measured yet to see. Best to probably just plan on replacing it. *We actually recommend replacing all the running lines...or at least have replacements on hand. Some are getting to the end of their lives.
-Windlass control arm (keeps the chain from jumping out of the gypsy) needs replaced. Broke in half. It's just plastic, so you could make something yourself as the spring and shaft are fine.
-There is a leak behind the freshwater pump housing between the shaft and lip seal, so seawater leaks in but ONLY when running the motor and not more than a drop every several seconds. I found another shaft and tried that thinking the old one may have been worn, but with that and new lip seals, it still leaked. It does not leak when sitting, even if the intake thru-hull is open. Due to this there is always a little water in the bilge. Hasn't been an issue for us though.
-There may be other maintenance items that come up as we put her away, but nothing that will affect her ability to sail or be lived on full-time.
>>>Other/incidental costs:
In addition to sale price there are the normal costs with keeping a boat that will be paid by Buyer:
Storage Unit - We have some spare items and things like bottom paint in a storage unit nearby. Costs around $50 a month
Marina Fees - Right now she is in the marina, which costs about $513 a month and includes water, electricity, wifi, and 24/7 security. When we haul out she will be in the dry storage yard which is about $140 per month. If she is sold before we haul out (Wed April 5 @ 7am), Buyer can elect to keep her in the marina. Either way buyer is responsible for assuming marina costs until they take the vessel to another location.
