Catboat Sailboat, Bobcat design by Phil Bolger, 12' x 6'
1996 Catboat Sailboat Bobcat
Description
The Bobcat is a 12'-3" x 6' catboat designed by the late Phil Bolger as a plywood epoxy version of the famous Beetle Catboat that has been built since the 1920's. Harold Payson describes the boat as being quick, agile and as sailing like a witch, and I agree. It sails big, is fun and comfortable. With reefing it can handle quite a bit of wind and is perfect for large lake and bay sailing. It has a centerboard and a winged barn door rudder, single mast with a gaff rig sail that has two reef points, Catboats are a class of boat that served both commercial and pleasure sailing purposes since the mid 1800's. Boat is in condition to sail this season with a trailer. No title for trailer, has new lights and reconfigured manual winch. Can live on its trailer. New halyards, good sail, reconditioned and re-leathered gaff and boom jaws. $1,000. is the price. Location is inland of GSP exit 25 Ocean City, NJ.
